🍊 Drink of the Week: Blood Orange & Bourbon Smash
Winter citrus meets deep, rich bourbon in this vibrant seasonal smash.
Ingredients:
2 oz bourbon
1 oz fresh blood orange juice
0.5 oz lemon juice
0.75 oz simple syrup (or honey syrup)
4–5 fresh mint leaves
Garnish: blood orange wheel + mint sprig
Directions:
Muddle mint with syrup in a shaker.
Add bourbon, citrus juices, and ice.
Shake until well chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass over ice.
Garnish with mint and a blood orange slice.
Refreshing, zesty, and just indulgent enough for January.
One Cart, Many Choices
You don’t need to pick a lane.
A well-stocked bar cart isn’t about excess, it’s about options.
This week, the cocktail and the mocktail sit side-by-side.
One warms. One refreshes. Both are worth savoring.
So whether you’re saying “yes” to bourbon, “no” to alcohol, or “maybe later” to everything, your glass can still be full of flavor. This is what it means to drink with intention.
🛍️ Bar Cart Upgrades:

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:
Blood orange. It’s actually a natural mutation of the common orange, with its rich hue coming from anthocyanins (usually found in berries), and it reaches peak ripeness in winter.
🏁 Closing Time
Whether you’re pouring spirits or sparkling water, this week is about making space, for yourself, for your preferences, and for a drink that meets you right where you are.
Here’s to balance in the new year.
Cheers,
Andrea
