Which U.S. president was born on the 4th of July?

(Hint: He was known for being quiet... and for loving a good Independence Day parade.)

🍹 Drink of the Week: Red Berry Vodka Spritz

A patriotic punch that looks and tastes like summer fireworks.

🍸 Bonus Patriotic Cocktails

1. Blueberry Gin Lemonade

  • 2 oz gin, 1 oz lemon juice, 0.75 oz simple syrup, 1 oz blueberry purée + sparkling water. Shake & serve over ice with blueberries and a lemon wheel.

2. Lavender White Sangria

  • 1 bottle dry white wine, 1 cup peach slices, 0.5 cup blueberries, 2 tbsp lavender syrup, top with soda water. Stir in pitcher, chill, pour into mason jars with fruit.

Fun note: A "dry" white wine is a white wine that contains little to no residual sugar, meaning it’s not sweet. In wine terms, “dry” typically refers to a wine with less than 10 grams of residual sugar per liter. Common examples of dry white wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris, and unoaked Chardonnay.

🧃 Mocktail Magic: Sparkling Starlet

All sparkle, no spirit.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz white grape juice

  • 1 oz lemonade

  • Top with sparkling wine–style grape soda

  • Garnish: edible glitter star + lemon twist

Directions:

  1. Stir grape juice and lemonade over ice in a glass.

  2. Top with sparkling soda and garnish.

A Picnic is Always a Good Idea

There’s something magical about a good old-fashioned picnic - low effort, high reward. You spread out a blanket, pour something cold, and suddenly everyone’s talking, snacking, and connecting. No playlist needed. No power cords.

But here’s the thing we’ve learned after one too many warm drinks, shattered glass, or soggy bum…. um - did someone just water the grass? You need the right tools.

That’s why this week, we’re spotlighting drinks that hold up in the heat and gear that actually works outdoors. Like this 35-Can Backpack Cooler (it won’t leak, and it’s less than $40), and this foldable waterproof picnic blanket that’s practically a party in a pouch (worth every penny at $26).

We’re keeping it portable and picnic-proof, because cocktails taste even better when you’re stretched out in the sun, listening to the sound of a cold can opening nearby.

"Liberty is the breath of life to nations."

- George Bernard Shaw

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:

Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States, was born on July 4, 1872. He is the only president to date with a birthday on Independence Day! He was also know to have a reserved personality and dry sense of humor that earned him the nickname "Silent Cal".

🏁 Closing Time

Whether you're catching fireworks, lighting a grill, or lounging with your crew, these patriotic sips and durable picnic essentials will keep your gathering festive and fun. Let’s make this 4th of July weekend the most relaxing one yet.

Cheers to community, connection, and cocktails with flair!
