This Is the Sweet Spot

There’s something magical about late August. The light changes. The air gets heavier - but more golden. Summer’s not over, but it’s whispering its exit.

This week, I picked some figs from my neighbors tree and was gifted some plums from my mom’s little orchard in Morton, WA. I really didn’t have a big plan, just a craving for something rich and velvety. I came home, muddled the figs with honey and bourbon, and one sip later, I realized… this is the cocktail that defines the season. Not high-octane. Not too sweet. Just balanced, dark, and soulful.

We’re in the sweet spot—the moment before everything shifts. And that deserves a drink worth remembering.

ā€œAugust rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time."

šŸ’” Answer to Trivia Question:

Turkey! The country produces more figs than any other nation - accounting for nearly a quarter of global fig production.

šŸ Closing Time

So here’s to figs, fading light, and the drinks that help us linger in the moment. Let your cocktails get darker, your glassware get heavier, and your evenings stretch just a little longer.

Because summer doesn’t leave all at once.
It eases out, one beautiful sip at a time.

Cheers,

Andrea
